PULSE NY 2010 / Christina Ray Gallery

Christina Ray Gallery will present at PULSE a solo exhibition of new work by Roberto Mollá. Roberto Mollá's new work draws inspiration from the ancient Japanese tale of the famous pearl diver Princess Tamatori. Her story gives structure to the artist's drawings, which feature visual references ranging from naturalist Ernst Haeckel's drawings of mollusks to the works of Dada artist Francis Picabia, Russian Suprematist El Lissitsky and the Italian Futurists as well as the modular designs of Manuel Barbadillo. Mollá deftly assembles his cast of characters and icons in a space at once fluid and bound by the geometry of the graph paper, a flatland in shades of red, black and gold where time is flexible and any encounter is possible.

PULSE Contemporary Art Fair is the leading US art fair dedicated solely to contemporary art. Held annually in New York and Miami, PULSE bridges the gap between main and alternative fairs and provides participating galleries with a platform to present new works to a strong and growing audience of collectors, art professionals and art lovers. The Fair is divided into two sections and is comprised of a mix of established and emerging galleries vetted by a committee of prominent international dealers. The IMPULSE section presents galleries invited by the Committee to present solo exhibitions of artist's work created in the past two years.

Fountain Art Fair New York 2012 / Kesting Ray Gallery

KESTING / RAY is pleased to return to Fountain New York for the 2012 edition and 7th annual fair in NY. With Fountain’s move to the 69th Regiment Armory, a well known icon with historic context in the American Art Scene, KESTING / RAY will unveil a collection of artworks from; Brian Leo, Beka Goedde, Swoon, Ben Wolf, Alyssa Dennis, Stephanie Dotson and Roberto Molla.

Fountain Art Fair opens this Friday, March 9th, unleashing an unparallelled platform of nearly 60 exhibitors, artist projects, performance artists and musical guests for its 7th annual New York exhibition. Fountain in thrilled to be taking place at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue and 25th st, location of the original 1913 Armory Show, and the venue where Marcel Duchamp exhibited the notorious ready-made namesake of the fair, Fountain.

Fountain, brainchild of Lincoln Capla, David Kesting, and John Leo, held its inaugural New York exhibition in 2005 as an attempt to gain leverage for young, independent galleries with strong, aggressive campaigns. This first show featured a mere three Brooklyn-based galleries, and boasted a fresh DIY attitude that catered to a yet untouched niche of the art fair scene. As Fountain continues to expand, the fair maintains at its heart a raw, unfettered spirit that distinguishes it from other art fairs.

Fountain remains true to its Brooklyn roots with a heavy contingency of exhibitors and sponsors from that creatively booming borough.
